Whether it is for one day or a multi-day stay… a visit to Disneyland Paris is always too short!
Follow our essential tips below to make the most of these special moments.
Visit dates
Depending on the season, weather, holidays and bank holidays, but the earlier the better to find a cheap ticket!
If you do not take advantage of Disneyland Paris' occasional special offers, you can save up to 35% of the total cost of your stay by booking in advance. To plan ahead, check the Disneyland pricing calendar.
If you dislike crowds, choose a low-attendance date, such as a weekday outside school holidays. For more precision, consult the Disneyland forecast attendance calendar.
Mode of transport
If you are coming by car, a parking area is specifically reserved to welcome you.
If you are staying at a Disney hotel, there is free parking for each hotel and free shuttles that run between the hotel and the park all day long.
ATTENTION! There is no shuttle between Davy Crockett Ranch and the Disney Parks and Disney Village; having your own means of transport is therefore essential.
The Disney Parks parking areas are free for guests of Davy Crockett Ranch.
By plane
You have the choice between two airports: ORLY or CHARLES DE GAULLE. On leaving the airport, you will find special Disneyland Paris shuttles; you cannot miss them, they will take you to your hotel or to the park and bring you back to the airport on the day of your departure.
By train
You will arrive at Disneyland Paris at Marne-la-Vallée/Chessy station, by TGV or RER A; you only need to take a few steps to enter the magic. If you are staying at a hotel, you can benefit from the DISNEY EXPRESS* service.
*Disney Express (subject to terms and conditions and minimum booking of 1 days in advance until 15:00 before your arrival): on arriving at Disneyland Paris, you go to the Disney Express counter under your hotel name where you present your ID card and your stay confirmation letter; the person at the desk will then provide you with your PASSes for the day and take your luggage to deliver it directly to your hotel's baggage room, except for Davy Crockett Ranch. (As rooms are only available from 15:00, you must leave your luggage at your hotel's baggage room.) On the day of your departure, you must drop off your luggage at your hotel's baggage room; it will be brought to the station so that you can enjoy your day in peace and collect it just before boarding the train.
Hotel booking
When you book your stay at Disney hotels, park entry and breakfasts are included (except at Davy Crockett Ranch where there are no breakfasts).
If you choose to stay outside the Disney hotels, consider buying your Disneyland Paris park tickets in advance to avoid waiting in line on the day of your arrival.
The restaurants
Depending on the restaurant where you wish to eat, remember to book; this will avoid you waiting too long. If there is no reservation for the chosen restaurant, avoid eating between 12:00 and 14:00 and between 19:00 and 21:00.
For a magical moment with the characters, we recommend:
- Rosalie at Disney Village (breakfast, lunch, dinner 7j/7),
- the Auberge de Cendrillon in Fantasyland (lunch and evening when the park closes late),
- the Inventions restaurant in the Disneyland Hotel (every evening and Sunday noon for brunch between 12:00 and 15:00)
- the Steakhouse (Sundays from 12:00 to 14:00 only).
There are no longer afternoon teas or birthday teas with Disney characters; however, you can specify when making your reservation that it is for a birthday occasion; the cake will be served at dessert time accompanied by the characters.
Length of stay and organisation
If you have the possibility to go for at least 3 days (especially if you have children), that would be ideal. You will thus have time to visit the parks without stress or rushing, and you can afford to go around 10 times without fear of not having time to do everything.
However, if you go for 2 days, it is possible to see a maximum of shows and parades and do many attractions, but for that, you still need organisation and ideally an itinerary. Easy!
You can find the map and descriptions of the attractions in Disneyland Park here and those of Disney Adventure World here, as well as the attraction descriptions:
- List what you want to do, or not.
- Check the minimum age and height requirements according to the attractions at Disneyland Paris and think about Baby Switch (if your little ones cannot come with you, take turns riding the attraction without needing to rejoin the queue).
- Check the schedules of the parades and shows here. (You will also find them at the park entrances.)
- If parades do not interest you, this is the time to head to the most popular attractions, especially in Fantasyland or in Disney Adventure World.
- Prefer Land by Land to avoid crossing the park multiple times.
- Think about FAST PASS: for the big attractions in the parks, at least those where the wait can become endless, you can take this small ticket at the indicated booths with your entry ticket. You will be given a time slot to return and avoid waiting too long.
What should you bring or not forget?
Do not worry, if you forget something, you will probably be able to find a solution in the 61 shops present on the resort. However, it is best not to forget the most important things: phone or at least camera and its charger.
- In winter: very warm clothes are a must…
- In summer: cap, sunglasses and sunscreen…
- For babies/children: nappies, wipes, baby bottles, spare clothes and a blanket just in case…
You have the option to check the park weather before your departure: here, which will allow you to pack the appropriate clothes in your suitcase.
Do not bring the travel cot for your youngest child; all Disney hotels can provide one. Simply request it when making your booking.
Strollers are available for rent inside the park if you want to lighten your load during the visit - see our guide Disneyland Paris with a baby for all practical tips.
If you do not want to carry your bag, there is a left luggage service at the entrance of Disneyland Park
Souvenir shopping
The park shops are beautiful and each has its own story. The stunning items will captivate you, and it is highly likely that you will be tempted by some pens, teddy bears, clothing or other accessories to please your family and friends (and yourself...). And here, Disney has thought of everything again: The Shopping Service*.
*The Shopping Service: completely free of charge, the shops will hold your purchases until the park closes. This allows you to enjoy the Extra Magic Hours (for Disney Hotel guests and Annual Pass holders) to shop in peace without having to deal with more or less bulky bags all day long. If you make your purchases before 15:00, you can also ask for your bags to be taken to the Disney Store in Disney Village, where you can collect them from 20:00 at the Shopping Service desk. You can also ask for everything to be placed at your hotel's shop. Your purchases will also be available from 20:00.
