Taking a baby or child under 3 to Disneyland Paris raises many practical questions. The good news is that Disney has thought of everything. Between the free entry for those under 3, the Baby Switch system that avoids making sacrifices, and the many activities suited to toddlers, a family visit with a baby is entirely feasible, provided you are well prepared.
Baby rate at Disneyland Paris: free up to 3
Children under 3 enter Disneyland Paris for free. There is no need to buy a ticket for them or make any special arrangements in advance. Simply present yourself at the ticket counters with the other members of your group who have their tickets.
Children aged 3 to 11 benefit from the child rate, which is cheaper than the adult rate. The adult rate applies from age 12.
Baby Switch: how does it work?
The Baby Switch, or baby exchange, is one of the best features at Disneyland Paris for families with young children. It allows two adults to ride an attraction with a minimum height or age requirement without waiting in line twice.
How it works in practice
- The whole group presents themselves at the entrance of the attraction and informs the Cast Member that they wish to use the Baby Switch.
- The first adult waits in line and rides the attraction while the second stays with the baby.
- At the exit, the roles are reversed: the second adult accesses the attraction directly without rejoining the queue, via a dedicated line.
This service is completely free and available on all attractions subject to height or age restrictions. You simply need to ask at the entrance; no prior reservation is necessary.
Which attractions should you use the Baby Switch for?
The Baby Switch is particularly useful on thrill rides where toddlers cannot ride:
- Big Thunder Mountain (minimum height: 1.02 m)
- Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain (minimum height: 1.20 m)
- Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril (minimum height: 1.40 m)
- The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror (minimum height: 1.02 m)
- Crush's Coaster (minimum height: 1.07 m)
Baby Care Center: the space dedicated to babies
Disneyland Paris has a Baby Care Center in each park, designed to make life easier for families with infants and very young children.
What you will find there
- Spacious and clean changing tables
- Quiet spaces for breastfeeding
- A microwave to warm bottles
- Baby food, nappies and essential products (paid) in case of forgetting
- A quiet space to take a break away from the hustle and bustle of the park
Where are the Baby Care Centers located?
In Disneyland Park, the Baby Care Center is located near Main Street U.S.A., on the right side of the park entrance. In Disney Adventure World, it is marked on the official map available at the entrance or in the Disneyland Paris app.
Which attractions are suitable for babies and toddlers?
Many attractions have no height restriction and welcome babies accompanied by an adult:
Disneyland Park
- It's a Small World - boat ride, ideal for babies
- Le Carrousel de Lancelot - carousel accessible by stroller or in arms
- Pinocchio's Fantastic Journey - gentle and colourful carousel
- Peter Pan's Flight - gondola flight, no jolts
- Les Mystères du Nautilus - walking exploration of Jules Verne's submarine
- Phantom Manor - wagon ride, accessible with a baby (beware of sound effects)
- Star Tours - simulator (not recommended for very young children sensitive to motion)
Disney Adventure World Park
- Cars Quatre Roues Rallye - gentle spinning ride
- Toy Story Playland - several attractions accessible to toddlers
- Art of Animation - immersive exhibition without a ride
Stroller: rental and tips
You can bring your own stroller into the parks. However, pathways and attractions may require you to fold it or leave it in designated areas. It is advisable to choose a light and manoeuvrable stroller.
If you do not want to carry your own, Disneyland Paris offers strollers for rent at the park entrances. These are simple 3-wheel strollers with a canopy, practical for a day of visiting. The price should be checked on the official website or at the park reception.
Stroller tips
- Plan for a raincoat or a rain cover for the stroller in case of bad weather.
- Some areas of the park have paved ground - a stroller with large wheels will be more comfortable.
- Strollers are not allowed inside attractions - supervised parking areas are provided for this purpose.
Practical tips for a successful visit with a baby
Plan for a short day or two half-days
With a baby, fatigue builds up quickly - for them as well as for you. Rather than trying to see everything in one day, it is better to leave before exhaustion sets in. A 2-day stay at a relaxed pace will be more pleasant than a marathon day.
Plan naps
Strollers allow babies to sleep while you continue visiting. If you are staying at a Disney hotel, a mid-day break allows you to manage the nap in good conditions before returning to the park in the afternoon.
Bring the essentials in a backpack
A dedicated baby backpack is more practical than a stroller bag: enough diapers for the whole day, wipes, spare clothes (rides can get wet), bottles or suitable snacks. Lockers are available at the park entrance if the bag becomes too bulky.
Enjoy the quiet moments in the park
In the early morning and late afternoon, the parks are less crowded. These time slots are ideal for accessing attractions without waiting and without exposing the baby to crowds and jostling.
